Dissolved oxygen (DO) monitoring plays a distinct and critical role in both Equalization (EQ) tanks and Sequencing Batch Reactors (SBR) within a sewage treatment plant (STP).
Team ISME completed the installation and commissioning of Dissolved Oxygen (DO) analyzers and optical sensors at a residential building at Genting, Pahang recently. The I-SYSTEM onsite service includes installing the DO analyzer panels, sensor brackets, routing cables, configuring the controllers, setting up data logging, and testing each sensor to ensure accurate and reliable performance. The sensor cables were ran through a conduit to prevent moisture intrusion and signal distortion. Moisture caused by improper protection or broken cable may reduce the insulation resistance of the cable connections causing a partial short circuit.
The optical sensors were verified and calibrated using Sodium Sulphite solution and tap water before being installed in the EQ and SBR tanks. The IUNI-21 universal transmitter offers continuous monitoring of DO levels, helping to improve the efficiency of the wastewater treatment process.
