Recently, our Technical team conducted a T& C (testing & commissioning) for the I-SYSTEM UOL Ultrasonic Open Channel Flowmeter at a STP (sewage treatment plant) in Johor. This is an onsite process to examine that the flow meter is installed and measuring accurately.
Requirements
- Instrument: UOL Ultrasonic Open Channel Flowmeter
- Medium: STP effluent
- Installation configurations: 9” parshall flume
- Services:
- To ensure that the non-contacting sensor is mounted correctly above the parshall flume
- To ensure that the flowmeter is operating correctly when power up
- To ensure the flowmeter is measuring accurately under optimal operating conditions and installation method
Solutions
- The open channel flow meter is power up to check if the display screen and buttons are all in working conditions
- Ensure that the flow sensor is installed in the flow stream at a location where there is no disruption of steady flow by upstream or downstream blockage
- Sensor height is adjusted to achieve optimal result
- The installation height and the water level is measured. The flow reading is observed and is calculated using the formula provided by the parshall flume discharge table
- Different water levels were observed to ensure consistency in flow reading
- An I-SYSTEM service report is provided for documentation purposes
