Refurbish and reprogram the existing UF control system to improve serviceability. Original system involves a singular PLC to control entire plant of 3 UF trains. Newly supplied system will control each UF train with its own PLC with the help of a master PLC.
Solutions
- Existing main PLC program is split into individual train PLC program so that each train can be shutdown without affecting the other trains.
- Main PLC and Sub PLC are designed to communicate with each other using OMRON FINS communication network for highest reliability.
- The main Proface HMI is reprogrammed to accommodate new PLC structure and internal address.
- Once all hardware is prepared, the system is swapped with the new hardware with minimum downtime to the plant.
- A SCADA system is also installed in place to allow real-time data monitoring and data logging for future analysis.
