Measuring Air with Pitot Tube Flow Meter

Measuring air with COMATE PTF520 pitot tube flowmeter.
Pitot Tube Flow Meter uses the differential pressure measurement principle, is suitable for measuring air and non-corrosive gasses. For example, in a compressed air application, the flow of wet compressed air can be measured at the outlet of the compressor for Free Air Delivery (FAD) when compressor efficiency is being evaluated. The pitot tube principle uses two pipes to convey fluid pressure to the sensing element in such a manner that the difference in pressure between the two is proportional to the flow velocity. From this, the media details and the pipe size, the actual flow rate can be calculated. The insertion flowmeter can be mounted through a tap point. It can be installed or removed without stopping the process line. It is less affected by the water contents in the compressed air.
