Chemical or water leakage can occur either by accident, negligence or incompetence. Industrial incidents like this cause damage to the storage facility and negatively impact the health and safety of employees. The negligence in the workplace health and safety not only results in costly repair and cleanup fees, but businesses may also have to pay hefty penalties imposed by regulating government bodies.
Preventive measures can significantly minimize the risk of these incidents, thus minimising the operational disruptions. Leakage detectors can help locate leakage and allow operators to take corrective action. It is commonly used in chemical storage areas and containment areas.
For example, a floor leakage detector such as Maxitop / Maximat LWC can be placed at the containment basin. When liquid is detected, signaling device will notify employees when leakage is detected, through an audible alarm sound, a flashing light, or notification in the remote monitoring system in a control room.
- Capacitance detection loop
- For aggressive and conductive liquids
- Fail-safe; Self-diagnostic of loop integrity with SHR or TC4 or TC1
- Wet parts in plastic materials
BAMO Maxitop LWC-B is ideal to give an alarm when leakage occurs on the floor of retentions or collecting areas. With its fail-safe detection loop, it is permanently operational. It is designed to detect conductive liquids with a reactance of up to 5 kOhm/cm and when the coupling capacitance towards the ground is more than 50 pF. The liquids may not generate electrical insulating or conductive deposit.
BAMO Maxitop LWC-B has 5 different types of connections:
- Contact output, low voltage (Max. 50 V AC/DC; Max. 0.5 A; Max. 10 VA)
- Relay output, adding a relay converter CST
- Output relay, adding a relay converter SHR
- Direct connections to a PLC
- Signaling events on-site, with devices TC4 or TC1
- All-plastic versions
- Integrated transmitter and connection for test button
- No moving parts
- Floor leak detection
- NPN / PNP interfaces
- Wet parts in plastic materials
BAMO Maximat LWC BX compact leak detectors are used to detect leakage or spread water-polluting liquids. Due to the short detection height of liquid, about 1mm, even a small leakage quantity is reliably detected. The device is used for leakage detection of water-polluting media.
- Static floor water detector
- Integrated resistor for detection loop monitoring, used with resistive relay ES5000
- Applications:
- Control of presence or not of conductive liquid on the floor
- Monitoring in technical room, computer room, etc.
- Detection in retention basins, underground cable trays, etc.
BAMO BES680 floor leakage detector, associated with a resistive relay, detects the variation of resistor value caused by the presence of a conductive liquid between two electrodes. This variation generates an alarm signal via a resistive relay.
With the integrated resistor (680 kOhm), the ES5000 relay secures the detection loop by detecting any cable break or short circuit.
- Floor stand detector, compact unit
- Without moving parts
- Built-in relay
- Cable output, 5m long PVC cable
BAMO WM25 is use to control if electrically conductive fluids are on site or are not. Single point detection of leakage in basin, drain, etc.
Two electrodes are permanently separated and electrically insulated from each other. The detector monitors the open circuit. When an electrical conductive fluid joins the two electrodes, the resistive detector actuates a relay.
